So much to do, rearrange, and update on this site, but since I didn’t want my shiny new logo to languish in my files while I got my act together, here’s a quick hello and a thank you to the guys at idesignyourlogo for making all my logo dreams come true.
If you found your way here because you were looking for rock salt, you won’t find any here. BUT here’s a link to actual rock salt. (you’re welcome)
For those who are on the fence about whether or not to buy a day with idesignyourlogo, here was my experience:
The process was unbelievably seamless. Dana sent a document with some questions to gather information on what I wanted. I told them some about the blog and pointed to some design elements I liked on other sites. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what I wanted, so I also provided some useless tangents about how they should avoid using ice cream themes, because of that time in college I threw up a 64 ounce milkshake and would NOT want to see anything that reminded me of that on my blog everyday. They gave me several initial ideas to narrow down what I wanted. A couple of email exchanges with Tony and magically, I had a logo I loved. I upgraded to the flat fee for a couple of revisions, so I don’t know how the process would have been different if I had just paid $6 (the value of the day). The upgrade was worth it, and I know I still got a logo far below the going rate for a graphic designer. Thanks again fellas!
A bit on this site…
You can read more about me and why I call the site Rock Salt on the handy-dandy About page. In short, what you’ll find here are ramblings, musings, sometimes tips/resources and theories on conflict (& conflict resolution), communication, media, social interaction and all its awkward glory, and how all of those help the world go ’round. I tell a lot of stories to illustrate my point. Mostly convoluted stories that enthrall annoy confuse people, but a few of them involve pet squirrels, so that’s something. Trust me, there are some good conflict and communication lessons to be learned from owning pet squirrels. The content will start on March 30th, coming out semi-regularly.
In the meantime, feel free to follow me on Twitter (@jlhenn) or sign up to get updates in your inbox. I promise I won’t abuse or sell your email address. So, you don’t forget about me over the next month (or report me as spam later; that wouldn’t be cool), I’ll send out one or two updates prior to the blog launching officially.
Thanks! And don’t forget…If you need a logo for any reason, buy a day from idesignyourlogo. You’ll like them.
